Why Should I Have an Ambulance Membership?

Few people expect to need an ambulance, but hundreds of times each year Southwest EMS responds when a life hangs in the balance. Many rely on the compassionate, highly trained professionals who arrive with every call.

The cost of an ambulance is no longer free. Membership directly supports our ability to provide high-quality paramedic-level advanced life support — even in rural areas — ensuring emergency care reaches you quickly.

Insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, often cover only a portion of ambulance transport. Denied claims and non-covered charges are common, which results in families paying out-of-pocket.

With a Southwest EMS membership, your emergency transport cost may be fully covered. If no insurance is available or if your claim is denied, you receive a 40% discount. Without membership, you are responsible for 100% of the fees — and a single emergency response can exceed $500.
